Before I tell you the three biggest problems, let’s talk about why you should care about intellectual property.

Create More Value, Make More Money

First, your intellectual property is unique to you. It comes from a combination of self understanding and real life experience that you- and only you- can share with the world.

Second, everyone has intellectual property. I don’t care who you are or what you’ve done (or not done) in your life so far. You have experiences and value and worth that people would pay you well for.

Third, you need to focus on developing and promoting your intellectual property if you want to rise above the noise and get the attention of your target market.

So now that you understand why intellectual property is important, let’s talk about the 3 biggest problems you have in defining it:

1. Programming/prior conditioning. Most people do not have anyone in their corner to encourage them to play big. In fact, I want you to entertain the following question right now as a reality check in terms of why it is so difficult to develop the confidence to play big: “When was the last time someone gave you permission to play big?”

2. There is no system to help anyone—from stay at home mom, to business owners to help them identify, value and position their true assets that they bring to the market place.

3. The traditional formula for business enterprise is also responsible for preventing people from not only identifying their worth, but in terms of translating this worth in the market place.

These are problems because most people underestimate their value, they feel confused about how to turn their life experience into cash flow, and they don’t know how to price and position themselves in the marketplace.
