Adopt Technology Early
One of the best ways to propel your business forward is to become an early adopter of technology. It doesn’t matter if you hate your computer, are afraid of the internet, or don’t know how to listen to an .mp3. You need to learn these techniques if you want your business to grow. I know it can be difficult to learn all these new computer skills (especially when you look at your children or grandchildren, who seem like they were born knowing this stuff!)
The truth is, most of us are at least a little bit intimidated by new technology, especially when the new technology pushes us out of our comfort zones.
Let me give you an example. If you are a writer, and like to write, it was probably easy for you to shift from using a typewriter to using a word processor. Same basic idea, but the new technology made typing and writing easier and more fluid. If you have training in TV or performing arts, it is probably easier for you to think about adding video marketing to your business compared to someone who has never been in front of a camera in any capacity. Basically, when you have a certain skill-set already, you are more likely to adopt technology in that same skill-set. The challenge though, is that you must learn to adopt technology in more areas, especially if it makes you uncomfortable.
With the rapid growth of the internet, you are missing out on opportunities to promote yourself if you aren’t using audio, video, and text. There are multiple ways to get your content out in front of people, you just have to overcome your discomfort, and actually do it.
