Business Coaching Training–The Director Of The Movie Pretty Woman Grabbed Me…
Have you ever watched the movie Pretty Woman? Or Undersiege? Or any other of producer Gary Goldstein’s blockbuster hit movies?
Last week while I was at a private networking event, this guy grabs me and tells me how much I have helped him in getting his book done. He couldn’t stop raving about my book, Author And Get Rich, and wanted to meet with me one-on-one.
Now don’t tell Gary, but I didn’t recognize who he was he definitely caught me off guard.
In just a few moments I want to show you something that will easily help you position your backend more easily than you thought possible.
But first and as a tie into this thought, I want to let you know that two weeks ago I had the privilege of interviewing billionaire Bill Bartmann for a series I am creating for my clients on creating and selling high priced programs. One of his suggestions in creating and selling high priced programs is to have successes under your belt.
Successes. Each of us has a ton of successes. You have a pile of successes, but it is my experience that very few entrepreneurs know how to leverage their successes.
That leads me to a question that I asked myself several years ago an I want you to ask yourself the same. I want you to think through very quickly what is more powerful: A written testimonial for a video testimonial?
One of the speed to market principles that I teach my own clients is this: “A person’s quick perception of you is their reality”.
You have less than 4 seconds to win over your ideal clients as ‘the’ person to listen to in your market.
This means that you must have a way to build instant credibility. On my next blog post I am going to share with you the two types of credibility that you must have to instantly position yourself as the go-to person in your category within your niche. (And the leading expert always has the most expensive programs and services!)
With respect to my question about written or video testimonials, I trust that you realize that video is the way to go.
However, do NOT make the mistakes I see over 99% of entrepreneurs make today in getting video testimonials.
I always keep a pocket camera on me (A Canon SD1100.) Why? Your clients and those who tell you how much you have helped them will give you the best testimonials off of pocket sized camera so that you can capture their emotion in the moment.
Below you watch as movie producer Gary Goldstein gives me one for Author And Get Rich.
Here are a few points I want you to realize in how I have been able to accumulate more video testimonials than anyone else today according to Alex Mandossian.
1. Shoot video in real time and in a way that makes the person giving you a testimonial comfortable. Avoid DVD camcorders/flip videos or movie cameras and bright lights if you want the best testimonials. Most people feel comfortable talking in front of a pocket sized camera, but will feel uncomfortable in front of a large video camera or something that tells them you are shooting video. And worst, you will get a video testimonial NOT spoken from the heart.
2. Always ensure you get video testimonials where your idea clients speak from the heart. The best testimonials are shot in real time where your ideal clients speak from their heart about how you specifically have helped them.
3. With your video testimonial, you are now able to repurpose the content by stripping out the audio and transcribing the audio into a written testimonial. Now you have three ways or learning modalities to reach your ideal client. Remember, your ideal clients learn best from one of three ways: kinesthetic (doing), auditory (listening) and visual (watching).
Now watch movie producer Gary Goldstein provide me an unsolicited video testimonial about how I helped him with his book. Remember, when you take the time to think through your own system of solving a problem, you open up the reality that your ideals clients will want to work with you forever. (Gary and I have a phone call planned for this Friday.)

Glenn:
Thank you for this excellent tip on getting video testimonials! I have used a flip video to get testimonials before. However I did not know that people are much more comfortable speaking in front of a pocket size camera with video function, even though they know they are being videotaped (I assume you told them up front). You made a great point there. Repurposing the video testimonials into audio and written forms is awesome! Thank you!
Warmly,

Hi Hueina:
Thanks for your comment. I have several flip videos but again, what are they called? Flip videos. How many times have you seen someone say while they are holding up their hands across their face: “I am no good on video?”
Also, most people don’t know what a flip video is and when you pull something out that makes them feel slightly uncomfortable, their attention will not be fully attuned to what you want them to do. I hope you can see that I strongly recommend you use technology that will work to help you build your business faster and easier and produce the results that you want–which is cash flow.

Wow Glenn, that’s exactly how I felt when I scanned your book for doing my rewrite! I wasn’t too far off but every day of my spiritual growth showed me I was attracting exactly what I needed! “Author and Get Rich” is the only book anyone needs to express the writer inside in the most organized, efficient and fluid manner possible. And I just picked it up again to read thoroughly before beginning my second book. Thanks for your dedicated perfection in helping us become our best. You’re awesome!

G’day Glenn,
Great point about a regular digital camera providing a greater comfort level. I have put your recommendation to the test with my small business training and development clients and found it to be true!
Thank you for another great tip Glenn.

Hi Karyn:
Thanks for testing what I recommend. The goal is to keep everything simple. I find far too often that entrepreneurs make everything too difficult which is often a symptom of over-thinking.
Karyn, please keep me abreast of your success with video.
Congratulations on your application of this principle!

Glenn,
Thank you for continually putting yourself out there and sharing your knowledge and expertise so willingly. Until only a few weeks ago, I had not even used a digital camera before with the exception of my cell phone camera. Your program, your uplifting, inspiring, and innovative videos and blogs, and your no-nonsense attitude really pushes me to “just do it.”

Thanks Glenn for continually sharing your thoughts and techniques. I have no idea how one man can continually create so much useful material. Also, your webmaster is nothing short of incredible!
