Focus Your Effort On What You Can Accomplish
As a busy entrepreneur (like all of you), it’s easy to have a “to-do” list which is very long, and to be angry with yourself when you don’t complete even half of what you planned. If you’re a Type A personality (like me), it’s easy to be self critical and to keep pushing harder and harder.
While you must be absolutely focused on moving forward, all the time, it is also important to move forward strategically. Sometimes I get frustrated because people focus on circumstances and situations they can’t control, and don’t take action on what they can accomplish.
We all have days where we lose focus and worry about externals or intangibles. But the fact is that if you can’t control something, worrying about it, fretting about it, and focusing on it isn’t going to help you get things done.
I tell all my clients to keep the effort and focus on what you can accomplish, each day, and to live with yourself even if things are left undone. The most important factor is that you do something each day to grow your business and promote yourself.
This is what separates those who run profitable businesses from those who don’t.
