One of the guys that I have gotten to know at Starbucks says that his circle of friends all refer to me as a Starbucks millionaire. (It’s probably because I spend every morning there!) I thought that was kind of funny, but it does prove something that is working in my life…and that’s understanding how to value your knowledge, information and every-day know how into high end programs and services so that you can create a life-style business.
When it comes to understanding how to value your information you must have a system.
In Episode 1 of The Super Rich Coach Series I shared with you the most important business coaching skill that you can learn today in business and that’s the ability to pitch.
And in order to pitch effectively you need a system.
This is especially essential as the pitch you create must NOT be focused on selling, BUT instead focused on strategic positioning.
Most people have to resort to hype, hiring high priced copy writers and other expensive and non-effective strategies and tactics to get people to purchase.
Instead of coming from a position of strength, they posture themselves in weakness and end up having to use gimmicks, tricks and other ‘hocus-pocus’ techniques pulled out of their bag of ‘Sales Tricks’ to make a sale.
And you probably know this almost NEVER works in today’s savvy online market place.
The key to pitching today is knowing how to strategically position yourself from a paradigm of strength.
The key is that you do NOT want to focus on having your target buy from you. Instead, you want them to purchase because they have been profoundly educated to trust only you.
Perhaps re-read the last paragraph so that you fully understand what I just stated.
Think about that. Instead of focusing on getting you target market to buy. Focus on educating you target market that frames you as their only alternative.
The concept of ‘buying’ insinuates lots of options and parting with money. It assumes a win/loss position with the person buying ‘ losing’ and the one selling ‘winning’. It’s a zero sum game and most of today’s sales’ systems focus on this kind of game.
Instead, if you focus on the concept of investing…that is focus on having your potential clients investing in only one option and that’s you. The key is to know how to put an educational process together that meets the specific criteria of The New Guru Model.
I just got off a call where I showcased to my clients how to position, frame and build for ‘the offer’ right away.
One of the reasons that the New Guru Model is a much more effective system that typical expert/guru models is that ordinary people are able to close deals much larger than they have ever dreamed possible is that they have a system that builds toward an offer.
