How A Business Coaching Testimonial Helped My Kids Win On The Court
I had a chance to self reflect with my kids yesterday after watching the U.S. fireworks across from our beach. (Michigan is on the other side of our lake.)
I observed that despite so many opportunities that people have today to get ahead, very few do.
Few people escape from the trap of the wrong kind of dependence.
As a family we spent a lot of time over the past few days talking about independence. About responsibility. About going after your dreams. I pointed out to my kids that once you recognize you have a dream this means that you are now responsible for that dream. (That certainly raised a huge discussion with my 12 and 13 year old boys!)
I want my children to watch people who decide to play BIG–in sports, in life, in business–people who take their dreams seriously and understand that they are responsible to accomplish their dreams. And who better in business for my boys to watch then the multitudes of my clients who are challenging themselves to turn their intangible assets that have accumulated from their life experiences into a business model that allows for accelerated cash flow.
I shared with my kids some of the business coaching testimonials that have been coming into our office over the past week–testimonials of people today who refuse to be repressed by middle class thinking that tells you to get a ‘good job’ and then you’ll be happy.
In fact, here is what I shared with my kids when we were in Indiana last week at one of the top shooting camps in the U.S. before my kids competed in the finals for the one-on-one competition for their age groups. (My boys are both Steve Nash wannabes!)
It was a simple testimonial that came onto my blackberry after one of my clients followed what I told him to do. He turned his dependence to another kind of dependence I share on the video below–in fact I shot this video from the beach we were at looking over the U.S. fireworks!)

Hey Glenn,
Believe it or not, I’ve recovered! The
“consult” on Friday was very well received.
I did make some last minute adjustments to
the presentation that worked very well.
The final close felt very comfortable…
I generated 7 sales out of about 20…
and grossed $45,995. It’s a start…
Thanks for your help and encouragement!

The point of sharing this with you is that Charlie will never fully realize what his success did for me and my children at a point when they were nervous about playing in the finals.
And the critical concept I want to share with you is this: people are watching you! Your target market is looking for someone to lead them. When you recognize that you have a dream, you now become responsible to others for what you do with it.
To Charlie…’Thanks! Your success impacted my children! Continued great things in store for you!’
To you reading this…’It’s NEVER too late to really go for it!” (Watch the short video at the bottom.)
To Accelerated Profits from your IP!
Glenn
P.S.
I shot this short video from our beach to share with you what I shared with my family about a different kind of dependence.

The “hero or the victim”? Hmm. Have fallen into *that* trap a few too many times. I’ve never heard these thoughts shared quite the same way. Very encouraging. Nice.

Hi Paul:
Thanks for your comments. You comment reminds me of a principle that I teach in our Legacy building program: “All life comes to us as a story”. Most people have a story where they see themselves as the antagonist and not the protagonist?
I have worked hard over the past 6 years to provide the absolute best coaching to support our clients as the protagonist in their journey as an entrepreneur.
Cheers, Paul!

Thanks, Siddique:
It goes to show that our actions are on show for people that we could never hope to reach outside of deciding to really play BIG!
Charlie benefits…his market place benefits…Charlie’s family benefits…my kids benefit…I benefit…you, Siddique, benefit.
The power of playing BIG. Taking your dream seriously! And working with a mentor.
Thanks for your comment!
