The following is how I stumbled upon a pitch process that allows for ordinary people to structure, pitch and close big deals by understanding how to chunk you thinking.

First of all I want to say the following…

Ordinary moms use this system. Ordinary dads do too. Ordinary business people as well. Ordinary entrepreneurs, ordinary authors, ordinary speakers and ordinary people who dream of a journey for their lives beyond the ‘routine’.

What makes these people extra-ordinary?

The system!

Each of these normal people uses a system to pitch a big idea.

Having a system allows anyone, even with little experience, to position your ideas into BIG ones! And the truth is that small ideas don’t win in today’s market place. The ‘abnormal’ NOT the ‘normal’ rules.

You see in a day and age when being normal rules, you need a system to turn you into ‘abnormal’

Ten years ago I launched a program that showcased to the thousands of clients who went through the program how to author an eBook.

I launched it to teachers globally. These were some of the brightest teachers from elementary, secondary, and post-secondary who wanted to learn how to author, publish and sell their expertise globally.

The content was revolutionary as we were one of the first companies to showcase to people how to fast write a book and publish using eBook technology which was a new technology at that time.

Even though we worked with very brightest educators from across the world, the biggest problem that they had was in how to structure their thinking.

That was the beginning of my company focusing on a critical skill which is actually a subset of creating a powerful pitch.

The ability to not only teach your target market BUT do so in a way that ensures your target market chooses ONLY you is an important strategic framework for positioning. This is especially important due to the fact that traditional sales strategies and techniques NO longer work.

The ability to know how to strategically chunk your content is, I believe, the most important skill in creating your pitch.

In fact I guess I ‘chunked’ the system so successfully it caused ADOBE Inc. to reach out to me within five weeks of launching this.

I am getting ready to speak at one of my former clients’ (Ken McArthur) events next week in Orlando, Florida.

I will be presenting on what my clients are able to do today with simple systems that allow them structure deals that engage their idea clients more profoundly then what their competitors do.

And that’s the key today. You need systems that engage your market place in a way that ONLY makes them want to do business with you.

One of the guys that I have gotten to know at Starbucks says that his circle of friends all refer to me as a Starbucks millionaire. (It’s probably because I spend every morning there!) I thought that was kind of funny, but it does prove something that is working in my life…and that’s understanding how to value your knowledge, information and every-day know how into high end programs and services so that you can create a life-style business.

When it comes to understanding how to value your information you must have a system.

In Episode 1 of The Super Rich Coach Series I shared with you the most important business coaching skill that you can learn today in business and that’s the ability to pitch.

And in order to pitch effectively you need a system.

This is especially essential as the pitch you create must NOT be focused on selling, BUT instead focused on strategic positioning.

Most people have to resort to hype, hiring high priced copy writers and other expensive and non-effective strategies and tactics to get people to purchase.

Instead of coming from a position of strength, they posture themselves in weakness and end up having to use gimmicks, tricks and other ‘hocus-pocus’ techniques pulled out of their bag of ‘Sales Tricks’ to make a sale.

And you probably know this almost NEVER works in today’s savvy online market place.

The key to pitching today is knowing how to strategically position yourself from a paradigm of strength.

The key is that you do NOT want to focus on having your target buy from you. Instead, you want them to purchase because they have been profoundly educated to trust only you.

Perhaps re-read the last paragraph so that you fully understand what I just stated.

Think about that. Instead of focusing on getting you target market to buy. Focus on educating you target market that frames you as their only alternative.

The concept of ‘buying’ insinuates lots of options and parting with money. It assumes a win/loss position with the person buying ‘ losing’ and the one selling ‘winning’. It’s a zero sum game and most of today’s sales’ systems focus on this kind of game.

Instead, if you focus on the concept of investing…that is focus on having your potential clients investing in only one option and that’s you. The key is to know how to put an educational process together that meets the specific criteria of The New Guru Model.

I just got off a call where I showcased to my clients how to position, frame and build for ‘the offer’ right away.

One of the reasons that the New Guru Model is a much more effective system that typical expert/guru models is that ordinary people are able to close deals much larger than they have ever dreamed possible is that they have a system that builds toward an offer.

In the coming episodes of The Super-Rich Coach I am going to share with you critical aspects of what goes into a successful pitch. This is NOT what you probably think. Don’t miss this.

From an Uzi carrying armed guard guarding me in Cozumel (picture below) to scaling Mount Everest in May (picture below of our company flag on Mount Everest) to helping my clients successfully pitch high level deals, to launching a new billion dollar industry in coaching, my company has reached new heights in 2011.

The following are some excerpts of my personal diary that I use to keep track of my business coaching momentum for 2011.

Before I share with you some of my business highlights for 2011, I want you to know that I am no one special.

In fact for 14 years while working in the public school system I struggled with dreaming about what I really wanted to do with my life.

As just stated, I spent the first 14 years out of university as an educator—eight years as a classroom teacher and six years as a vice principal.

Than something magical happened 8 years ago.

I made the most strategic decision of my life.

A decision that no one has ever made with the school board I was with.

Before I tell you what it was, I want you to know that at that time I had no money, I was about to embark on my PhD and I had a young family. What’s more, I became acutely aware that I had two boys who were watching me as their role model.

Eight years ago I said ‘YES’ to living life full out.

I said ‘YES’ to turning my passions, my talents and the pain of my past into a business of helping others go for their dreams.

I said ‘YES’ to leaving education and everything I was working towards at that which was becoming the youngest Superintendent and Director of Education.

And I said ‘YES’ to becoming the best role model to my kids that I could possibly become!

What I didn’t realize at the time was the opportunity that would become much greater than I ever realized!

At that time all I really knew is that I wanted to take my passion and expertise as an educator and help people author and publish their expertise. The system that I created caused ADOBE to contact me just over five weeks of launching my first website.

That was my first example of ‘Speed-to-Market and led to many other firsts in the industry of coaching and cash flow generation using nothing but my Intellectual Property (IP) and the Internet.

Perhaps you know aspects of my story during my first year in business.

If you don’t, what I am most excited about and what began to shape my future in business was the fact that I was involved in creating and selling some of the largest coaching deals in the industry of business coaching right out of the gate.

These and other successes got me quickly noticed by many people who wanted to know what and how I was able to execute so quickly.

That’s what started me on the journey of building what today is one of the fastest growing business coaching companies online.

However, as great as my successes have been online, some of my biggest gains in business were this past year—2011!

These include some of the following business coaching accomplishments:

I have assisted my clients in closing some large multimillion dollar deals. Many of these I can’t promote due to the ‘stealth’ relationship that my clients want me to have.

I’ve created a new billion dollar platform for quickly launching anyone with their own business coaching and consulting business–even for those beginning from scratch.

I’ve worked directly with some of my clients as case-studies for you to see so you could learn from them how to increase the efficiency of your sales’ cycles by from 25% to 5000%. I featured many of these clients from time-to-time on my blog.

I’ve been able to put our company on top of Mount Everest in May.

I’ve been able to travel extensively and speak at some really cool business venues.

In fact, while traveling in Cozumel I had my own body guard armed with an Uzi as you can see from the photo.

And the list goes on.

BUT the real area I am most grateful for is the fact that I have continued to be a strong role model for my two boys: ages 13 and 14.

As well, I have made my wife even happier! (which goes a long way in my books!)

Sure I could be even more successful, but at what price?

I have created a life style business that allows me to travel, help my boys go for their dreams in basketball and other areas of life, and I have given my wife her one desire—the ability to freely travel. (Besides being a GREAT husband! )
