Small steps or quantum leaps?
Small steps or quantum leaps?
This is an important question in terms of how you want to build your business. Most of the time, entrepreneurs are too easily satisfied with small steps, where they could be making quantum leaps. Many of my Inner Circle clients, prior to starting with business mentoring, would describe themselves as being very busy, but still not quite getting the sales and marketing results they wanted.
Why?
Because they were showing up each day, taking small steps, building 1 after the other after the other… but, in the meantime, their competitors were leapfrogging past them. This means that their competitors were getting wealthy, just because they were taking much bigger actions, more quickly, and more of them.
Take a look at your calendar from last week. Did you do anything that you would consider a quantum step forward? Something big or bold?
No?
Flip to the week before last. Did you do anything that week which was big or bold?
If not, this is a big problem- a cash flow problem.
In business, people who are willing to step out and play big- to take some large calculated risks- are the ones who get rewarded. Even now, with the economy being uncertain, you can still lay the foundation for a strong business, and outpace your competitors.
This process relies on three things:
1) Complete belief in the value and benefit of your system
2) Willingness to do what it takes- especially if “what it takes” is difficult or makes you uncomfortable
3) Being flexible and willing to accept market feedback, and adjust accordingly
If you go into the market with a strong belief in your system, are willing to be self promotional (or even brag!), and you’re willing to adjust efficiently based on market feedback, you have all the pieces in place to make a quantum leap forward.
As we move to the end of this year, and start planning for next, I would challenge you to make 2010 a quantum leap year, and take big, bold, and decisive action to build massive cash flow.
