When you hear the term “business backend”, what do you immediately think of?

If you think of, “how I sell more to my existing clients”, you’re exactly right.

You can only build a strong business if you have a way to increase and deepen your level of engagement and commitment to your clients, and their commitment to you. Proper positioning is really about making your business the only choice for your target audience.

When you have become the only choice, you must get these clients to invest with you in order to profit. Most of the time, businesses have a lower end product or service offering they use to attract clients, and then they proceed to sell them into higher priced programs and services later.

That works- and has built many strong businesses.

Here though, I suggest you invert your business funnel, and instead of focusing on the people who are looking for low end services to focus directly on those who want premium service, premium information, and premium coaching.

Yes, it sometimes takes a bit more effort to sell a person into a high end program. But when you consider that your projected cash flow from a high level sale is 1,000 to 10,000 (or more) times larger, the extra effort doesn’t seem like too much work.

When you focus on selling high priced programs and services, you are able to generate massive cash flow, which you can then reinvest in your company to drive your marketing efforts.

So let’s look at some steps for building your business backend:

1) Determine what your current business service funnel looks like. What are you currently selling, and at what price?

2) Now, take your highest level service (the bottom of your funnel in step 1) and make that the bottom of a NEW funnel. What would your business look like if you started selling services at the highest level, and then built up from there?

3) Figure out what you would need to do to convince potential clients about the benefit of investing with you at the higher level. Most of the time, you need to polish up your professional image, upgrade your marketing, and focus on collecting more testimonials, endorsements, and case studies.

People will pay for results, so the more results you can show them, the easier it will be to make the sale. And when they are your client, it’s important to focus on keeping them a client for life.
