Another concept I’d like to share with you is that of the 3 levels of mastery.

You can use this concept for yourself, and for your clients.

Although I am a big fan of writing and publishing your book, I also know that most people will never move forward to invest in your highest end programs simply from reading your book. Most people take three months to read a book, maybe think about the book for a minute, decide if it was good, and then put it down- never thinking about you or your book again.

The reason this occurs is because knowledge, alone, does not confer mastery. We all know hundreds of pieces of information, but it doesn’t mean we are masters of each of the areas we know something about.

The first level of mastery is knowledge.

The second level of mastery is emotions. When we can understand our own emotions, we can use these as another source of data, inspiration, and strength. When we can tap into the emotions of our target market, we are more successful at sales and marketing.

Emotions, alone, aren’t enough though. They need the third level of mastery to be effective.

The third level of mastery is will. We must implement and take action in order to fully demonstrate our expertise.

When you learn information and apply it, you have attained a higher level of mastery.

So my challenge to you is this. The next time you read a book, or listen to an audio program, or learn something new, plan to implement your knowledge within 24-48 hours. Do one thing new or differently based on what you just learned.

In this way, knowledge will lead to business acceleration.
