As someone who has sold millions of dollars of coaching over the last seven and a half years, I can categorically tell you there is no greater business skill than you can learn than learning how to pitch.

I am going to share with you some of the most important concepts of pitching that I have discovered that has put me in front of people with years of business experience on me, yet they were the ones spell bound by me.

What I am going to share with you are experiences born through ‘Speed-to-Market’ activities gained in the market place, and NOT from some lofty academic position big on theory and devoid of practicality.

When it comes to pitching, most people think that this equates to hard sales and massive pressure tactics. One of the seven rules of the New Guru Model (http://NewGuruModel.com) is that push-based selling tactics and strategies do NOT work anymore. Your target market is skeptical, jaded, and cynical—and so are you!

The key to getting around people’s resistance to your message is to understand how to frame a pitch in the new era in which we live, The Recommendation Age. This is an age when people want your recommendations.

What this means for entrepreneurs, speakers, coaches, authors, small business owners and for anyone who wants to sell their advice (NOTICE I did not say ‘information’ – Your market place does not want more information) is that your market place wants to be educated.

In other words, marketing and education must be one and the same thing.

This means that you need to understand how to frame your marketing as an educational process that allows you to close business faster than what your competitors do.

It’s a race to build a better pitch than your competitors AND in a way that they stealthily educates your target market to select YOU as their ONLY trusted advisor.
