Treat Yourself As a MultiMillion Dollar Investment
On one of my executive mentoring calls last month, I was explaining to the members how important it is to treat yourself as a multimillion dollar investment.
What does that mean exactly?
I’m glad you asked, because I’m about to explain.
We were talking about the importance of how you look and feel, and how this focus on appearance can actually help your business. Not from the perspective of being vain, but, rather, from the perspective of properly positioning yourself in your marketplace.
If you are a consultant to C-level execs (or want to be), you must look the part. This means you wear professional attire, have excellent grooming, and, simply, must make the best physical showing that you can.
And it’s not all about looks, it’s also about appearance and demeanor.
You must be able to speak about your expertise, and your system for helping clients solve their problems, and you must show enthusiasm and sincerity.
Part of treating yourself as a multimillion dollar investment also pertains to what you eat and drink, how often you relax, and how much exercise you get.
For those who know me, I’m fanatical about working out, and watch my diet carefully. I always appear at business events looking well dressed and pulled together. People never doubt my enthusiasm for my company, and they know, right away, that I take myself seriously, and then, by extension, will probably treat their business seriously, too.
This is important when potential clients are considering making an investment with us.
So my challenge for you today is to look at yourself in the mirror, and then look at your key habits around nutrition, exercise, and rest and relaxation.
