Two Important Concepts When It Comes To Creating A Winning Idea
One of the biggest problems I am constantly see entrepreneurs make is that fact that they over-think or the fact that they do not know how to think strategically.
No where is this more important than when it comes to using a system to create a winning idea in the area of product creation.
(As a reminder, I challenge you to find anyone teaching the concepts I cover on this blog which includes today’s post.)
Your product differentiation cannot be figured out with anything less than understanding this concept: “Writing is the doing part of thinking.”
Any so called product creation gurus who tells you can figure out your differentiation by interviewing yourself or experts simply is either miss-informed or is trying to make a quick buck.
When creating winning ideas (translation: when you are able to turn your ideas into a strong proof which is the power of having a system.) You must have a system to help you analyze your ideas.
A winning idea answers two important questions:
1. How to reframe what you do around your target market’s negative perception of what your competitors fail to do?
2. The flip side of #1 is what is your bold prediction for your target market?
A basic marketing concept is that your target market will move forward with you primarily from what they will lose as opposed to what they will gain from the system you have created to solve a very specific problem.
Let’s up this thought 1000X by reframing this point.
Focus your target market’s pain on NOT moving forward with you from the stand point of creating a Bold Prediction for your industry.
By doing this you increase the likelihood that your ideal clients perceive you as the standard of your market place.
Speed To Market Business Coaching Principle #1: Every discipline has a standard.
Speed To Market Business Coaching Principle #2: Experts who set themselves apart from other experts in their industry are the ones who create predictions for their industry.
Final Point: As important as it is to ensure your products/services are differentiated properly, it is even more important that you know how to reframe this properly. Position what you do around your target market’s negative perception, and by creating a bold prediction(s) for your industry, you will ensure that you are able to leverage the power of one of the most powerful laws of perception: Zipf’s Law says that your target market will choose the company or person perceived to be #1.
Final Warning: Be careful of all those so-called gurus who tell you how easy it is to create a successful product online.
My Bold Prediction For Those So-Called Gurus Who Teach This Crap: You will continue to experience return rates that exceed 60 to 70% and fail to ever help any of your clients create and sell the most expensive programs in their niche.
Proof That This Works In Over 120 Industries And With Thousands of Ordinary People
On Friday at Noon EST (New York Time) I am going to interview Kathy Gillen who is one of my clients and let her instruct you into what she has done to create the most expensive programs in her niche.
This training was originally meant to be just for my clients, but I am going to open this call up to you as well.
You will be surprised at the experience she has achieved despite the fact that her industry has been hit hard by recession.
Get ready to play big.
