Why Its OK If People Are Upset With You
When you focus on marketing your business assertively and radically, it is inevitable that you will upset some people. There will always be people who are envious of your marketing, or your success, and who criticize the way you do things.
And you know what? That is OK.
I believe that if you truly believe in the value of your product or service, and want to leave a legacy, you must tell everyone you meet about your products and services. And you must do this in as many ways as you can- through your blog, website, audios, and videos. Your business card should state exactly what you do, and your message must be relevant and targeted for the exact people you want to work with.
Enthusiasm and excitement sells. But enthusiasm and excitement can also upset some people. They will accuse you of being too self important, or too full of hype, or just marketing too much. And you know what? That is OK.
Most people don’t market as much as they should, because they fear what other people will think or say.
You can’t please everyone all of the time, and if your message is getting to the right people, it’s like that old saying from Dr. Seuss: “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
